How much may I be compensated for my Air Canada flight’s delay?

What happens when Air Canada overbooks a flight?

If a passenger is denied boarding for no apparent reason, they are entitled to the following monetary damages:
If travelers are more than six hours late, a $900 fee will be assessed.
If the passenger is more than six hours late, they will be charged CAD 1,800.
If the passenger is more than nine hours late, they will be charged CAD 2,400.
Please be aware that if your Air Canada flight originated from a European Union airport, you would need to decide whether you will file your claim under the old European Union rules or the new Canadian rules. You can’t work for both of them and get paid.
